Cornmeal Dog Biscuits
Prep time: 20 minutes Cook time: 30 minutes
Total time: 50 minutes
Servings: 12 biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 c. wheat flour
- ½ c. Edwards Mill Yellow Cornmeal
- ½ c. bacon greased, cooled
- 5 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- ½ c. water
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, mix the wheat flour, Edwards Mill cornmeal, bacon grease, oil, and ¼ c. water until combined. If the dog biscuits are not coming together, slowly add more water, ¼ c. at a time. Be careful not to add too much water, as it will make the dough too stick to work with. If the dough does feel too sticky, add more flour.
- Roll dough onto a flat countertop that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Keep rolling the dough until it reaches ¼ in. thick. Cut with a dog bone cookie cutter or use a knife or dough scraper to cut into rectangles 1x2 in.
- Place on the parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for 25-35 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Cool completely before treating our canine friends.
