1930's Depression Quilt

Depression pink embroidered and painted "Flowers for My Lady"  with top couple from 1890s and middle couple from the 1930s. Joy Ganoung's  (French origin) mother made, Alta Buchanan, in Kiowa City. Alta's father came in the Land Run of 1889 and homesteaded 160 acres in Cooperte, Indian Territory. Joy worked in the 1970s & 1980s as supervisor of nursing services at OK Children's Hospital. She died in 1998, had no children of her own, so she poured her life into the children at the hospital. Diagonal hand quilting @ 6-7 st/in. Penciled "My Favorite 15" in the Calla Lily in the middle.
