The weaving of baskets is as old as the history of man. Basket weaving (also basketry or basket making) is the process of weaving or sewing pliable materials into two-or-three dimensional artifacts, such as mats or containers. This art form became an official work station at School of the Ozarks in 1982. This blending the head, heart, and hand has always been one of College of the Ozarks sole determinations. Each basket varies slightly in color, design and size as each one has been custom-made by our hardworking students to support their college education. Each basket is formed with a solid poplar base (which has been laser engraved with our student-made products logo. As a finishing touch, a hand-stamped leather medallion, with a symbol of what College of the Ozarks' is all about. HARD WORK!
